As part of our commitment to providing new and innovative ways to get water conservation messages into the community, we have developed the Tapstar Waterwise Education Program for years K to 6.
Our goal is to promote wise water use, and provide the opportunity for schools to become more actively involved in water conservation
The program has been developed in conjunction with local Shoalhaven schools and provides structured lesson plans and support material, which will help you teach important water conservation messages to Primary School classes.
Heading up the new program is Tapstar whom many of you already know. He has been updated to make him more relevant to today’s school children and he appears in a new stage performance that complements the Education Program.
The new Tapstar Waterwise Education Program includes
- A live stage performance (‘Tapstar Saves Water’) including songs for children to learn
- The new kids section of this website
- A teacher workbook, which has a structured program of water related activities and lesson plans
- Accompanying worksheets for each lesson
- A CD Rom containing all the worksheets and the music for the songs
- Quizzes for students at the end of each stage
- Certificates and stickers to award students who complete the program activities
The Program has been written to enable teachers and educators to achieve outcomes from the NSW Syllabus, and these outcomes have been highlighted on each of the lesson plans to allow for easy assimilation into the classroom.
