We would like to advise that it is illegal to use standpipes other than those hired from Shoalhaven Water in the Shoalhaven area of operations.
When you hire a standpipe from us:
- You agree to abide with the AS3500 requirements of the NSW Code of Practice Plumbing and Drainage which ensures no form of cross connection or contamination can occur to the Shoalhaven potable water supply; and
- You read and agree to the Terms & Conditions in our Metered Standpipe Hire Agreement which contains information on prohibited areas for drawing water, and our current fees and charges.
To apply for a Metered Standpipe:
Submit our online Metered Standpipe Hire Request.
Upon our receipt of the Hire Request, you will be emailed an invoice which must be paid prior to or on pickup of the standpipe. If you choose to pay the invoice online you will need to provide a receipt number to our counter staff, or if you are paying at the counter you will need to present the invoice.

Reading of the metered standpipe
Upon request, the hirer must provide quarterly meter readings. These can be submitted using any of the following methods:
Should the hirer fail to present a standpipe reading, a usage charge will be calculated based on average standpipe water usage as per Council’s Fees & Charges.
Shoalhaven Water reserves the right to read the meter on the standpipe at any time.
