Council's sewerage system
Shoalhaven Water is responsible for maintaining the extensive network of sewerage pipes that transport the wastewater from your property to your local sewage treatment plant.
Regular maintenance is conducted to ensure our systems are operating effectively.
As a property owner, it is your responsibility to:
- Ensure access is available to the sewer inspection point within your property, including sewer manholes, boundary risers and yard gully's.
- Maintain the drainage pipes within the property through to the point of connection of our sewer network.
- Prevent stormwater from entering the sewer system. An excess of rainwater into the system is a common cause for sewer overflow.
