On receipt of payment, installation will be in accordance with the approved service location plan supplied.

Adequate site accessibility must be available for our operations staff to operate large machinery.

What is a service location plan?

A service location plan is a diagram that will assist us with the installation.

Your service location plan must indicate the proposed location on the property, distances between the control panel and the pump unit, and the distance between the pump unit and boundary kit.

As a guide, the pressure sewer unit must:

  • Be located so that the residence and any other building can fully drain by gravity to the unit
  • Be located no closer than five (5) metres to the residence
  • Not be more than 10 metres from the alarm panel
  • Be in direct line of site from the alarm/control panel. Obstructions are NOT permitted between the unit and the control panel

Installation responsibilities

Installation and Commissioning

Based on the supplied site location plan, Shoalhaven Water will proceed with the installation of the pressure sewer system, including all functional components. This will involve:

  • Connecting power supply to the pumps.
  • Testing the electrical operation upon completion of installation.
  • Filling the unit with water and conducting a test run. If mains power is unavailable, a generator will be used.
  • Leaving the system in normal operational mode once testing is complete.

The control panel will be locked after commissioning. If the final dedicated circuit has not yet been installed, your electrician will need to contact us to coordinate access. If the circuit is already in place, we will connect and test the system using the house supply.

Upon completion of our works, we will notify the applicant so they can arrange for the remainder of the electrical installation.

Electrical Requirements for Pressure Sewer System

The owner/builder must engage a qualified electrician must be engaged to install a separate dedicated circuit, as approved by Shoalhaven Water, from the property's electrical meter box to the location of the control panel.

Once the system is connected and operational, all power costs associated with running the pressure sewer unit will be the responsibility of the property owner.
