Submit building over sewer plans

We have specific requirements when it comes to building over or near our gravity sewer mains, and this includes leaving unrestricted access to all manholes, junctions, lampholes and maintenance shafts.

Where a development is proposed over or adjacent to a Council sewer main, development approval and approved building plans are required.

How to submit

Before you start

Have your approved building plans ready to upload

Before you submit your plans, you will need the following:

  • A current development application and/or water development notice reference number (e.g. DA23/1234)
  • Approved building plans and a site survey plan prepared by a registered surveyor, accurately showing the location of the existing water or sewer asset with respect to the proposed structure. All levels must be to the Australian Height Datum (AHD)
  • Certified engineering plans indicating soil classification and type, and protection requirements of the sewer infrastructure and proposed/existing in accordance with Council's building over and adjacent to assets technical guidelines

These can be uploaded in pdf or jpg format.
