Book an inspection during construction

Inspections are required during construction to ensure water and/or sewerage works are undertaken in accordance of your approved design plans.

Inspections may include (but are not limited to):

  • Materials to be used
  • Disconnection of metered or unmetered services
  • Laying of pipes and other components
  • Installation of a sewer junction or sewer junction cap off
  • Manhole and lamphole construction
  • Prior and during concrete encasement of sewer mains
  • Placement of sand bedding, pipeline, fittings, fixtures, sand backfill
  • Assembly of fittings (eg, hydrants, stop valves, scour valves, gas release valves)
  • Pressure testing of the water main or sewer assets
  • Any other work relevant to the project
  • Restoration of site

Please note: This form is only applicable to inspections during construction as indicated on your water development notice. For other required inspections, including plumbing and drainage, please contact Shoalhaven City Council.

Inspection of piering depths as indicated on your design plans and approval letter will be inspected by Shoalhaven City Council’s building surveyor (where Shoalhaven City Council is the Principal Certifying Authority) or by a practising structural engineer (private certifier).

Step 2.Have your documentation ready to upload

To make a successful booking, you will need:

  • Your unique reference number (e.g. DA23/1234, CD23/1234, SF12345)
  • Your plumber or contractor licence number and work cover general induction for construction work in NSW (white card) details
