Our metered service connection sizes for commercial properties are 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 80mm and 100mm. Please contact us directly for services greater than 100mm.

What you need to apply

To apply for a new commercial meter you require the following:

  • A current water development notice (e.g. DA23/1234)
  • A service location plan showing us exactly where you would like the meter, manifold, or fire service to be installed, this can be uploaded as a jpg or pdf
  • Hydraulic plans and water sizing calculations that have been prepared by a qualified consultant.

A Service Location Plan is a simple diagram that provides us the information we require to install your meter in the position you want. Your nominated location must:

  • Be positioned along the front boundary, and
  • Not exceed 1 metre in from the front boundary.

What happens after I submit the connection request?

On receipt of your application, we will:

1. Review the application to determine the location is viable.

2. Calculate costs of the water connection.

3. Issue a payment advice (invoice).

On receipt of payment, we will schedule the installation of the connection as indicated on the service location plan. You must ensure the site has a 2m square clearance where the installation is to occur.

Meter installations will take up to 20 business days from date of payment.

What happens after installation

Once a meter has been installed:

  • The property owner or builder must engage a licensed plumber to connect the meter to the dwelling.
  • All internal pipes on the property including taps and drains, are the property owner’s responsibility.

Should a meter be damaged or interfered with, charges may be issued to the property owner.

Manifold Connections

If your multi-dwelling development requires 2 or more standard (20mm) meter connections, then you will require a manifold installation. The size of the manifold will depend on the number of meter connections.

Manifold meters can be a staged installation. This is useful for developments that may not require all meters to be connected at once. This option can be selected within your installation request.
